Afterschool
Art Clubs

High quality mentorship, adaptive activities that encourage learning, experimenting, and self expression during out of school time all make a huge difference for kids who might otherwise be at home alone, socially isolated, or passing time in front of screens. Kids with access to out of school enrichment where they are accepted, challenged, and celebrated have fewer school absences, less anxiety and depression, and improved academic performance.

Afterschool Creativity Clubs at YOUR School!

I can conduct a six week session of afterschool creative play at your school! Sessions are typically limited to two age/grade levels.

Students can pack a snack to enjoy during a read-aloud or a creative "warm-up" before we begin on the week's project. Art activities are process-focused, teaching kids new techniques, encouraging experimentation, problem solving, artistic craftsmanship and self-expression. This means that you will not see copies of a craft created by the teacher - each student is encouraged to listen to their intuition, make their own choices, and aim for increasing their skills beyond what there is time for in art class. Creativity clubs are not for "artistic kids" - they are for ALL kids to continue their natural ability to teach themselves by practicing, learn persistence by overcoming challenges on their own, and connect socially while seeing from different perspectives.

Requirements for an on-site Creativity Club

A quiet room that is not being shared by another program during the club

A sink or a nearby sink.

Another adult in the building in case of emergencies.

Administrative support for collecting names and registration forms.

Access to non-expendibles like rulers & scissors.

Costs for an on-site Creativity Club

The cost per student is $70, for all 6 weeks, materials included.

Parents can pay for their child, they can choose a "pay-it-forward" donation to assist other families, the school can offer a sponsor, or a school art-party (with me) could raise funds to cover or lower costs.

Sessions must be paid in full; on site programs can not be drop-ins.

Refunds for non-attendance can not be offered.

Sessions must have a minimum of 7 students, maximum of 12.
